What you will learn in the Leadership Retreat
Regenerative investing goes beyond adopting new investment and business models - it requires a shift in mindset. As Albert Einstein said, "We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them".
This program blends inner development with training of regenerative principles and business structures. You'll explore your purpose to anchor from within, develop compassion for strong relationship skills, and redefine your relationship with money for more holistic wealth creation. You'll also learn about regenerative business and finance models partly collaborating with Ugandan entrepreneurs.

Why together with entrepreneurs?
Many believe we are facing a crisis of trust, especially in business and investment relationships, yet experience shows that trust is crucial for success. To move from transactional interactions to more meaningful, relational connections, we must take time to connect with ourselves and understand the realities entrepreneurs face. This understanding fosters deeper trust in future collaborations.
The retreat brings together investors and entrepreneurs, but it is not for investment purposes. Instead, it's about learning from each other's experience and building relationships across different realities.

Who are your facilitators?
GoldenDeer
Nina, the founder of GoldenDeer, has over 15 years of experience in impact investing, collaborating with a wide range of investors including individuals, family offices, funds and foundations. She has helped these investors provide loans, equity and grants to funds and businesses across five continents in ten sectors. In addition, she lead the setup of three ventures.
Nina is trained in systemic family constellation and compassion. Through her own inner development practice and her work with clients, she has found that inner work enhances both well-being and investment endeavors.
SHONA Capital
SHONA Capital provides flexible debt financing to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in East Africa, helping them grow and reach their full potential. SHONA Capital offers hands-on business management support in addition from their team, as well as preselected industry experts and experienced entrepreneurs. As a 100% Ugandan team, SHONA Capital exclusively invests in local entrepreneurs.
To support leadership development, SHONA Capital offers such leadership trainings to their entrepreneurs. The first cohort began their training in March 2024 and will be attending this retreat together with you.

Outline of the Leadership Training
Online trainings pre retreat
These trainings will prepare you for the one-week retreat in Uganda. We will start our practice on purpose, compassion and relationship with money and you receive an introduction to regenerative business & investment structures.
Retreat in Uganda
Online trainings post retreat
Four online trainings will help you to integrate the experience from Uganda. Some sessions will be held jointly with entrepreneurs, while others will be exclusively for investors.
Investment
The retreat costs € 4.000, which includes both the online and in-person leadership training, 6 nights of accommodation with delicious meals, and transportation within Uganda. This fee also partially subsidises the travel cost for entrepreneurs, with SHONA Capital covering the rest.
Airfare to Entebbe Airport and alcoholic beverages are not included. The retreat will be alcohol-free for the first four days.
